Robot Lawn Mower

A robot lawn mower uses a variety of sensors and navigation techniques to cut your lawn. Some of them are sophisticated enough to use GPS navigation to guide themselves and laser sensors to detect obstacles, like the Carnegie Mellon University Automated Turf Management project.  Several of the consumer models have already become extinct, like the Toro iMow, but you can still buy units like the Robomow from Israeli based Friendly Robotics corporation.
